


You can do what Neil instructs which I've done before but not without having to deal with the transition to/from the stablized clip. but at the same time I don't claim to be an expert. every time I mess with this for a while, I just rejoin my clips and apply WS to the whole mess (first bullet above).I've used Warp Stabilizer quite a bit.

Manually provide directly non-WS scaling/rotation to the surrounding clips.this was seamless as the viewer doesn't see the transition. for example, I was panning a shot from one place to another but it crossed a dark portion of the scene (a chair) which was a convenient time to crossfade to the WS clip. Apply WS to a trimmed away section, and then provide aesthetically pleasing transition into and out of the WS clip.but rendering those sections ahead of time is easy and makes it work and I can export completed sequences that are settled so I don't have to process WS each export of my main timeline.
